Happy New Year! 🎉.

An incomplete and unproven todo list for submitting an app to the app and google play store plus a recap on my Fachl postcard journey.

I am back from vacation mode, get up early on Monday and start the week #2 of the year with uploading the blog article from week 51 and 52 of the past year. Looking back at the year it is crazy what you can learn in one year. In the beginning of 2025 I was still building the product page of my https://fotoprints.shop/ and now I am into app development and can confidently say that I can develop websites. I have two live projects & completed Harvards CS50 Course, but still no users let alone paying once. So lets see if 2026 can change this.

My goal now is

to make the developer accounts in AppStore Connect and Google Play ready for our first submission. I have already “designed” our App icon. Missing are still texts and “screenshots” of our app that I want to design. What else will be needed is still unclear for me, but becomes clearer the next days:

I want to publishing our app

And therefore I am going through the check lists in the developer accounts of google and apple and tick them off one by one.

✅ website to link privacy policies

https://www.lifeupdate.online/

I just threw a quick prompt into https://v0.app/, created a new next.js project, copied the code in, host the website on https://vercel.com/dashboard and the domain was already bought. In total it took me 45min to set up this website. Now I need to add a valid privacy policy, which I already created with https://termly.io . But I may switch the generator. In the end if the app picks up speed, we might need a lawyer to draft a real privacy policy and terms and conditions.

✅ create privacy policy

✅ age survey in google play console

✅ data collected by app

✅ add description texts

✅ add screenshots

✅ set distribution countries

✅ provide a test user for reviews

In total it is a little annoying to set up the stores and I am sure there will come some work around the corner after the first review. What I find very interesting is first releasing for android beta & iOS TestFlight. Maybe reviews are not that strict there and friends & family can already start using the app. Particularly interesting to see if they like it and would stick with it.

My Fachl ends this week

and I sold 23 postcards. Not bad I would say. But not close to making revenue. And the hoped for barcode scans did also not happen. So I’ll receive them back and will write here once I do what I will do with the remaining once.

In total I made with the fees from Fachl 41,40€ of sales volume meaning a loss of X and I now have 157 postcards too much. Aaand business cards. Anyways it was worth the try and I will find a way to reuse the remaining cards in a good way.

TikTok

I used all my video buffer over Christmas and now have the pressure to cut one TikTok every week until I thought of another way of making TikToks I like to produce some videos in advance again. I will also let you know once I have figured something out. In the end of this sunday I also got back to coding again. Which makes tremendously more fun than setting up the app stores. I fixed some bugs and updated the video buttons to pulsate once a user is overdue to send a video.

See you next week! ✌🏽
