Sending postcards to Fachl Celle.
Uiuiui it is already monday of week 50 and I have not yet written a blog post for last week. I was just not feeling it. Or better said, I was knees deep in coding for the LifeUpdate app that I didn’t want to waste time on writing this article. Looking back now the last week seems endless. I was OoO on Monday and Tuesday. Monday I went hiking. Tuesday another big thing happened.
Yes I prepared a few of my pictures (6) to be ready for print with flyeralarm, ordered a wooden display stand and signed up at s’Fachl Celle. This is a shop in the center of Celle offering some shop space to small artists and people selling little things. You will now be able to buy my postcards there for 2€ a piece. This costs me 80€ of 5 weeks rent and 10% on every postcard. I payed 14,61€ for business cards to be placed next to the display stand with a qr code at Flyeralarm and 89,93€ for the postcards themselves. In total that means that I have to sell 94 postcards over 5 weeks to not make loss with this. If I do so, I guess it doesn’t matter. It is more like a “at least I tried” thing. A yeah! I sent over 125 postcards and I always printed a qr code on the back of the card so people might find the online shop through the card. Then it would’ve been a nice marketing measure. To not miss out on the christmas shopping business, I also just sent the cards directly from print to Celle and did not check them. Thumbs are pressed, that they look nice! If at least some postcards will be sold there I will probably keep this thing and start also distributing postcards in cafes I go to. This is how my business cards look like:
The second big thing
You can now login to LifeUpdate with Google SignIn and onboard. That means creating a group after signing in. Searching and adding already existing users and adding them to the group. Cool, huh? I also created a supabase edge function that will be called once a user uploads a video to calculate the date when the next video for this group and user will be overdue.
