Teaching myself in patience.

Some weeks I have to teach myself in patience. If I visit friends on the weekend, do a lot of other stuff during the week, coding burns under my nails, but all those other things have prio. For the sake of mental health probably. That was cw45.

On Monday I design an onboarding flow for the app I want to work on. Really looking forward to app development. I need to go the last steps of buysmarter.online to submit it to CS50. That means upgrading the webscraper to fetch the price of a product & allowing the user to add a text in a field to the product. I want to post to LinkedIn about this project as well if anybody would use it. Essentially asking if users get the use case. Maybe I need to adapt the landing page a little to look nice. But after that React Native development calls! Will I make the above this week? Tuesday morning I already missed because I slept in. Wednesday I want to go to the gym in the morning. I have to - once more - teach myself in patience.

Additionally I want to get some advertising mails out for the Fotoshop. My initial thought was 40 each week. But Gemini left me hanging after a promising start with finding recently opened cafes. It didn’t work that well for Airbnbs nor doctor’s offices. I will now downscale to writing to ten locations each week manually and am considering self hosting n&n to eventually automate the flow and increase the amount of advertisements sent out gradually by a better process. Right now I am thinking:

Get the url of a doctor’s office or hotel manually > use that as input for my n8n flow > tell AI to get the contact email & name of contact person from page > automatically create an email with the name of the contact person > manually check the email & click on send

Additionally this email could be added to a spreadsheet I could use as a CRM and check with a little script to not message a venue twice. More was not possible this week since I stayed with friends over the weekend and this has always prio. But no! Actually, I pimped the homepage of buysmarter.online with the following image and added the feature to add and edit a description to a product. That means this project is ready for submission to Harvards CS50 course, meaning I finish one more project and finally, after close to a year bring the CS50 course of Harvard to an end 🎉

Last thing to do is to create a video about my project which is then part of the submission. Really loving the feel that I can focus on a project with the React Native App now that I am passionate about again.

See you next week! ✌🏽
