The week of the google sign in.

Not much to summarise this week (cw43). I made the google sign in work on dev & prod.

Will this be the week of google sign in?

Following the docs of supabase I removed the previous login and replaced it with the google login. Copilot was not a great help when the old login still existed. But after manually removing the legacy code, setting up a basic structure myself and telling copilot where to exactly add what, it helped a lot. Google signin on localhost now works, but I get these two errors I still need to fix this week and I do not yet know how.

The given origin is not allowed for the given client ID (GSI)

What I can already say is, that google sign in is fast. And that’s awesome! Ai could actually not solve the error. So I fell back to good old stack overflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/68438293/the-given-origin-is-not-allowed-for-the-given-client-id-gsi.Now the only problem is that the google button does not load on page load but only on a refresh. But if I fix this on Friday Google signin is good to go. Friday: I made it work! See:

Really happy to have made this and now looking forward again to improving the webscraping without relying on Ai to finally submit this project to CS50.

See you next week! ✌🏽
