Monday

Good morning! Today working from the living room of friends in Dresden. Had a beautiful weekend with a lot of friends in Dresden. We went for a pretty hike in the good old sächsische Schweiz where I was able to again pick up my camera and film some stuff. Then it was cardboard game time and visiting my sister who lives in Dresden as well. I furthermore read some articles about story telling. An area where I want to improve now. I need to think of stories that I can feed to the videos I recorded. I am unsure in which way I want to feed them to them. As text overlay? AI voice over? We will see. For now I sent last weeks newsletter out, converted it to an AI voice over with gemini and eleven labs and will feed videos from last week underneath. It feels pretty cool, because I now do not only have videos from my room of me coding but can reuse clips from Innnsbruck and so forth.

Train ride back to Munich

After work I get on the ICE to Munich. Again time for me to get some nice focused hours in. I love train rides! And they pass so fast! I wrote my first real story about the visit in Dresden. Let it read by an AI Voiceover and cut my videos to it. A lot of my shots now actually look good. So a lot of improvement there and a long way to go probably. But wit film making catching light is somehow even more important than with photos. The Feedback from my family is that they felt something watching the mini video. So this is awesome! On Story telling I also have a long way to go. Now heading to work, tomorrow I will do sports but on Thursday there is another train ride scheduled.

Storytime

I have written two stories this week:

I am sitting on a regional train that is too warm. I can't stretch my legs and I'm hunched over my laptop. It's been a busy week and I will only arrive in nine hours. But as I carry my heavy backpack through the large entrance hall of the train station, I start to feel different. This is the city where I lived for so long. Familiarity blends with the new things that have changed since I left. I make my way through the streets without needing to look at a map, but I have forgotten how long it will take. My friends have bought fresh rolls at the bakery. And then it happens. Slowly, time changes its rhythm for me. Now, three days later, I am sitting in a cold train station again. Alone. I scribble down these lines, but I feel different. I feel connected. Down-to-earth. Content.

When sunlight hits your skin and enters your eyes, it triggers your brain to release serotonin. This hormone boosts your mood and helps you feel calm and focused. UV-B rays hitting your skin kickstart a chemical reaction that creates vitamin D, supporting your brain’s functions and blocking receptors that cause depression. Bright light tells your brain to stop producing melatonin, the hormone that makes you sleepy, and you start your day feeling more alert. This is why you feel the way you do in the sun.

And on Friday I sit in the train again full on vibe coding. Setting GitHub Copilot to Claude mode with Sonnet 4.5 (not even Opus) and allowing to edit everything. Hitting in prompts and while it is loading whatching TikTok. But it is fun, so who cares?! Next thing up is trying to launch the app into the app stores. Beta testing!

See you next week! ✌🏽
